Who We Are ?
We are Alex Perl and Jim Kane of Kitty Mainecoon, We’ve been passionate about the Maine Coon Cat breed since having these pets join our families over thirty years ago.
With the support and mentorship of exceptional breeding partners, my dream of spreading the love and companionship of Maine Coons became a reality. I was fortunate to connect with Judy Friedman of Coons’Kin Cattery, and it was clear from the start that she was the perfect ally in my journey.
A fast friendship blossomed, and with the arrival of an exceptional kittens named Yoffi and Simba, I was propelled into the world of breeding. Additionally, I have partnered with Cindy Rogers and Wayne Weikhorst, DVM, of Suncoon Maine Coon Cats, ensuring that I work with the best in the field. Their success and contributions to the breed speak volumes about their dedication and expertise.
At Kitty Mainecoon, We aspire to provide carefully selected families with Maine Coon companions who become cherished family members.
Our cats are considered part of my family, and kittens live with us until their perfect adoptive families are found. The care and well-being of our Kittens is a passion and we wholeheartedly share, and those who adopt a Kitty MaineCoon kitten become an integral part of my extended family. All cats and kittens receive the latest health screenings, vaccines, and care as if they were going to be my own pets—because sometimes, they do become part of my family.
Knowing that my kittens are matched with exceptional adoptive families makes their departure a bit easier, as I take pride in finding them loving forever homes.

Why Choose Maine Coon Cats?
At Kitty Mainecoon, we believe that Maine Coon Cats are truly special creatures, steeped in myths, legends, and lore. Some of these stories are amusing, while others stretch the bounds of fantasy, but they all spark engaging conversations. There are countless books and articles dedicated to the Maine Coon, and people never seem to tire of learning about this extraordinary breed—our very own National Treasure! The Maine Coon is the native American long-haired cat, first recognized as a distinct breed in Maine, where it proudly holds the title of the official state cat. Locals held these magnificent cats in high esteem for their exceptional mousing abilities, even organizing competitions to honor the best “Coon Cats.”Born from nature’s own breeding processes, Maine Coons have developed traits that suit them perfectly to thrive in the Northeast’s harsh winters and varied climates. Today’s Maine Coon is known for its robust, rugged appearance, featuring a unique, shaggy coat with three distinct lengths and a long, well-furnished tail. They carry their tails with pride, using them to wrap around themselves and their kittens for warmth and protection. With large, tufted paws that act like snowshoes, Maine Coons can traverse snowy terrain with ease, defying their size and weight. Their big, tufted ears provide protection and help with hunting, keeping them warm in chilly weather. Beyond their striking looks, Maine Coons are celebrated for their intelligence and gentle disposition. They have a charming way of winning over humans, and despite their size, they are incredibly friendly, making them excellent companions for children and other pets. This endearing nature has earned them the affectionate title of the “Gentle Giant” of the cat world, making them highly sought after as family pets, companions, and therapy cats. After years of local acclaim and competition success, the Maine Coon was honored as Best Cat at the very first major cat show in the United States. The esteemed title was awarded to “Cosey,” a brown tabby neuter Maine Coon, at the Madison Square Garden show in NYC in May of 1895. The silver collar and medal awarded to Cosey can be found on display at the Feline Historical Museum at CFA headquarters in Alliance, Ohio.At Kitty Mainecoon, we are proud to ship our beloved Maine Coon kittens across the entire USA and worldwide, ensuring that everyone can experience the joy of welcoming a Maine Coon into their lives!
